Mirrors can enhance just about any space in your home. A good guideline to follow is to always place a mirror where it will reflect something beautiful. Mirrors can simply be used to create interest in a space. Another application for mirrors is to place them in unique groupings with art and other architectural wall décor.
The photo at the left is a great example of good mirror placement. The image that we see in the mirror is a reflection of the art and fireplace mantel in the living room across from the front hall. It expands the space in the front hall and brings added color into the space. The mirror has a practical purpose as well in this location. It is a landing place for all who come in or go out of the front door of the home, a perfect check point!
Notice the arrangement in the dining room, above right. The arrangement has pizzazz because we incorporated a variety of interesting and unique frame mouldings. Frame mouldings are works of art in themselves! |

What fun it was to place a mirror in this unique place! My client Patty, has a beautiful deck. She created a covered cozy seating nook complete with a Venetian chandelier!
The perfect decorative solution is a mirror! It reflects the amazing view and dramatic white columns supporting the pergola across the deck. Talk about expanding. |

I kicked off the summer with an art show! I had a blast hosting with Jennifer Strongin of Editions Limited, and Drybrush Graphics. Interior designers, architects, space planners, and builders met at the showroom of my commercial art framing company, Northwest Framing Commercial, Portland to enjoy great art, food, wine, and good conversation.
I made some new friends and have had the pleasure of helping them with their art needs since then. If you need a resource for art consulting, and/or custom framing design please contact me! 503-579-2787
